Buccaneers promote Freddie Martino to 53-man roster
He’ll replace Mike Evans for one game.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted wide receiver Freddie Martino to the active roster, the team announced today. Martino spent this season on the team’s practice squad, and played 13 games for them last year, catching eight passes for 142 yards and one touchdown.
Martino will take Mike Evans’ roster spot, who’s suspended for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets for an after-the-play hit on cornerback Marshon Lattimore last Sunday. The Bucs receiver appealed that suspension, which failed last evening, so the Bucs needed to add some receiving talent for their upcoming game.
