Mathieu Joseph and Bokondji Imama star for the Saint John SeaDogs, scoring a combined twelve points.

Hello Lightning fans! A little introduction to who I am and why I’m here. I’m an editor over at the SBN Maple Leafs site Pension Plan Puppets, and I do a bit of everything over there, but my favourite thing is a weekly summary of the CHL and NCAA based prospects. I offered to do the same here at Raw Charge, and here’s the first week.

What you’ll see are players sorted by league and then a quick note on each game; the score, goals, assists, and the players +/- (not a perfect stat I know). If a player has had a great game I’ll add a video recap of the game if I can find one. Also at the very bottom is a chart listing skaters PPG and NHLe. NHLe isn’t much other than a fun guess at what a players production in his current league would equal over an 82 game NHL season. The math comes from Rob Vollman , and it’s not perfect, but I find it interesting.

Last week was one hell of a week for a few Bolts prospects. Taylor Raddysh netted four points for the Erie Otters, and Mathieu Joseph & Bokondji Imama put up twelve points total for the Saint John Sea Dogs in just TWO games. Mathieu Joseph has the chance to impress Team Canada ahead of the World Juniors wen he plays for Team QMJHL this week again Team Russia.

A couple players sat out with injury; Jonne Tammela has had hip problems all season and played in his first two games last week, but sat out two more after his hip flared up again. Otto Somppi is missing time after being punched in the head, but has resumed light skating. Finally Brett Howden missed his chance to play for Team WHL against Russia with a nagging hip injury of his own.

Taylor Raddysh leads the way with 2.3 points per game, the only Bolts kid to do so this season. We have five more with 1+PPG, and that’s what we’re looking for from players post draft year in the CHL.

That’s all I got for ya from last week, we’ll do this again next week.
