The Dolphins just signed Cutler to replace Ryan Tannehill.

It’s starting to sound like the Miami Dolphins will sign Jay Cutler to replace Ryan Tannehill, whose injury is still shrouded in mystery. That’s what Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Miami Dolphins in week one, so that’ll be interesting. The Dolphins offense was messy last year, and Cutler’s not about to make that any better. He’s always thrown far too many interceptions, and he played just five games last year due to injury.

One of the five games Culter played came against the Bucs, and he managed to throw two picks, lose a fumble for a safety, and get sacked four times on just 35 dropbacks. That was the first time in five games over his career that Cutler lost to the Bucs, to be fair, but he’ll be facing the same defense this season as he did last year.

To make matters worse for Cutler, he’s going to have to get up to speed with this offense in just one month. The Bucs play the Dolphins on September 10, and things move fast in the NFL.

In any case, I’m happy the Dolphins decided not to sign Colin Kaepernick. He might have given them a competent offense.
