NFL Power Rankings, week ten: No Bucs belief
Another week of NFL football means another week of power rankings. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been…well…not good. They had a chance to stay in the division race last week, but instead got blown out at home by the Atlanta Falcons. That kind of performance is not good for your ranking.
SB Nation’s Adam Stites ranks the Bucs 26th, down two from last week. That’s pretty much where every other site has the Bucs ranked, too. NFL.com: 27th. CBS Sports: 25th. Fox Sports: 29th. Pro Football Talk: 23rd. Yahoo! Sports: 28th. I could go on, but there’s no point: everyone is convinced the Bucs suck.
And rightly so. That’s what 3-5 teams who just go blown out are, generally speaking. They’re bad. The Bucs have some promise left — they’re still waiting for key players to come back from injury, and the short week may have disproportionately hurt them — but mostly, we’re now looking to next year. To when the Bucs can yet again add a few new people to get them over the top. Because we haven’t heard that song before.
