Kwon Alexander’s injury is “not too serious”
The Bucs got lucky there.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got lucky with Kwon Alexander’s injury: according to Roy Cummings, formerly of the Tampa Tribune and now with Fan Rag Sports, his injury is “not too serious” and he should “not be out for too long,” which fits what Dirk Koetter said yesterday about Alexander not being out for long.

Alexander’s absence is giving rookie Kendell Beckwith some time to shine, and that may even carry into the third preseason—it wouldn’t be surprising for the Bucs to keep out Alexander as a precaution. Alexander’s missing from practice today again, so that seems increasingly likely.
The same is true for right guard J.R. Sweezy, whose injury Koetter said is also not serious. He may not suit up on Saturday either, which would give the Bucs some interesting quandaries given that Demar Dotson is probably not suiting up either. That’d leave them without two of their five starting linemen, while Jameis Winston is expected to play more than a full half. Not a great recipe for success there.
