The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a couple of roster moves, promoting cornerback Javien Elliott and center Josh Allen from the practice squad to the active roster, while placing center Ben Gottschalk on injured reserve after he played in about half a game.

Elliott is an undrafted rookie out of Florida State who spent most of the offseason with the Bucs and has been on the team’s practice squad all season. Allen has been on and off the Bucs’ roster and practice squad since 2014, when he went undrafted out of Louisiana-Monroe.

Elliott will take Jude Adjei-Barimah’s place, as the second-year cornerback was suspended for four games today. With Brent Grimes also injured and his participation in doubt, having another cornerback on the roster is far from a luxury. Elliott had a few impressive moments in preseason, and the Bucs hope that’s a sign of things to come.
