It’s still unclear when and where the game will be played.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins were scheduled to play in Miami this Sunday to open their regular season(s), but the appearance and strengthening of Hurricane Irma will prevent that from happening: the NFL announced that, in the interest of public safety, the game will not be played this Sunday in south Florida.

It’s not yet clear whether the game will be moved to a different location on the same day, or whether it’ll be moved to the same location on a later date. The two teams would both prefer the former, but that may not be feasible. The NFL could use the bye week, which falls in the week of November 14 for both the Bucs and Dolphins this year, to play the game.

We’ll keep you updated on the impact of Hurricane Irma on this game. Most importantly, though, if you’re in any way likely to be affected by the hurricane: please stay safe.
