Buccaneers could lose offensive coordinator Todd Monken to Mississippi State
The coach is slated to be the first coach to be interviewed for the job.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could lose one of their key coaches to Mississippi State. Peyton Aldridge of Tru Maroon Takeover reports that the Bucs offensive coordinator is the first coach to be interviewed for the head coaching job at Mississippi State, who are losing Dan Mullen to Florida.
Monken has a lot of college experience, and was the Southern Mississippi head coach from 2013 through 2015. He joined the Bucs in 2016 as a wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator, in what was his first coaching job in the pros in a career that stretches all the way back to 1989. So, you know, he has a bunch of experience in the college game.
If Monken does leave, the Bucs will likely turn to current quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian as a replacement—assuming the coaching staff even survives this season, of course, which is not a given.
