Annual cupcake festival at Ybor city
It’s November and not everything has to be about Thanksgiving and pumpkin everything when you can add sweetness to your life, once again the 7th annual cupcake festival at Ybor city came back with lots of local cupcake bakers and lots of sweet creations. I don’t think there is a better way to start my holidays than with cupcakes right? Every year local bakers come together to compete at this fun event where a panel of judges goes all around the stands to determine the best tasting cupcake to finally name the winner of the “Best cupcake in Tampa 2017”. Well deserve for those amazing bakers that bring innovate creations, including a great selection for those picky eaters like me, or even food allergies or diet restrictions, As a Vegan person I could find more than three stands that offered gluten – dairy free options and for those who like to take care of themselves, because who doesn’t love to have an indulge day without feeling guilty?
Just as every year this event was locate at the Saturday market in Ybor city Historical center of Tampa Bay, along the cupcakes I had also the opportunity to purchase not only the awesome sweet creations AKA cupcakes but also to see, try and buy from some of the best local vendors including art, food trucks, organic food and home goods, as well as walking around one of the most Historic neighborhood in Tampa. The Saturday market at Ybor city it is the perfect place to find hand-made goodies. Take the chance to give it a try to the market, or if you own a small business and you are trying to get people to know your products you can apply to become a vendor.
My warmest congratulations for the winners of this year:
1st place: Stand #10 Deanna Marshall for the amazing “Breakfast cupcake”
2nd place: stand #8 Mary Bonnell for the unique ‘Dairy free chocolate cupcake”
3rd place: Stand #13 Corrie Benedict for the incredible presentation of all her amazing cupcakes
